Georgia man found dead in Huntsville apartment

Huntsville police officers are working the city's 16th homicide.

They were called to the Warren House apartments on Executive Drive about 9:30 Tuesday morning. They discovered the body of 49-year-old James Michael Griffy inside his apartment.

Griffy is from Rossville, Ga. and had been doing contract work in Huntsville. Co-workers became worried when he didn't show up for work this morning.

"It appears that foul play was involved, we don't know exactly what the cause of death was, we're awaiting the coroner and the forensics sciences. As soon as we hear something from them, we'll make a determination and we'll be able to release that information," said HPD Sgt. Ed Cain.

No arrests have been made in the case.
