BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts has moved its presidential primary to February 5th, joining some two dozen states holding contests on what amounts to a mega-primary day.
Governor Deval Patrick signed a bill today to move the state's presidential primary from March 4th. The switch was intended to give Massachusetts voters more clout in the nominating process.
But critics say the switch could potentially hurt former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
They say changing the Massachusetts primary could force the Republican to have to expend time and resources in Massachusetts to avoid an embarrassing loss in his home state.
