Farron Barksdale's autopsy results are back

An autopsy has revealed what caused the death of Farron Barksdale, the man who shot and killed two Athens police officers.

The Alabama Department of Corrections released a statement today, saying Barksdale died of natural causes.

Barksdale was found comatose in his cell at Kilby Correctional Facility in Montgomery in August.

He died 10 days later and because the cause of the coma was unknown, the Department of Corrections Officials requested an autopsy.

Barskdale suffered complications from a heat stroke and pneumonia.
