Two 18-wheelers collide, impacting morning traffic

Road crews have cleaned up the scene where two 18-wheelers collided early Friday morning.

The wreck happened at 1:00 a.m. on Brock Road near Stone Drive.

An 18 wheeler hauling wood overtuned and blocked the roadway.

Just a little later, another 18 wheeler headed the other way towards Highway 72 swerved onto the shoulder to try to avoid the overtuned truck.

That driver lost control of the truck on the roadway and overturned as well.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries.

Hazmat cleanup crews were on scene to cleanup fuel spills from the wreck.

State Troopers were on the scene for five hours.

The district has embarked on the largest building expansion in its history, at a cost of about $100 million.  This unprecedented move will impact nearly half of all students in the district and every student in grades 9-12, a mobilization of students that has not seen since integration in the 1960s.  Deca...More >>
