HUNTSVILLE BOTANICAL GARDEN ANNOUNCES 2007 GARDEN LOVERS' PLANT AUCTION, PRESENTED BY LORING AND COMPANY

The Huntsville Botanical Garden will be holding the 3rd annual Garden Lovers' Plant Auction, presented by Loring and Company on Friday, October 4, 2007 in the Arbor at the Botanical Garden. The event will begin at 6 pm and will consist of a silent auction, a live auction and a social hour.

The live and silent auctions feature more than forty rare and exceptional plants. In addition, approximately twelve outdoor excursions and garden-themed items are offered in a casual evening of fun. The highlight of the auction is a fully stocked, 10 foot by 10 foot  potting shed designed by architect Paul Matheny and custom-built by David Hasting. This event is one of the biggest fund-raisers for the Garden with all proceeds going to support Garden activities.

Tickets are available by invitation or at the Huntsville Botanical Garden Gift Shop. Tickets are $75 per person, with additional sponsorship or donation levels available. Contact Caroline Morris at cmorris@hsvbg.org for details.

Heavy Hors D'oeuvres and a full bar will be provide to those attending.  Auction Items can be viewed beginning August 2007 at www.hsvbg.org or on the Garden's announcement board in the lobby of the Visitor's Center. Attendees are encouraged to dress casual, to include their most unique gardening outfits. A door prize will be awarded to the guest wearing the best "Gardener Look" - outfits, boots or clogs.
