Belk department store gives $5,000 to Kids to Love

A grand opening celebration meant a grand gift for foster children Wednesday.

Just before unveiling its new store at Madison Square Mall in Huntsville, Belk presented the Kids to Love Foundation a check for $5,000.

Kids to Love founder and president Lee Marshall accepted the check on the foundation's behalf.

She told store employees who were gathered for the ceremony that the money would go a long way in providing Christmas for local foster children.

The Kids to Love Foundation is committed to meeting the immediate needs of foster children, with the ultimate goal of helping them find a forever family.

Belk store manager, Jim Riley, told the crowd that the community is at the heart of Belk's business.

The Kids to Love Foundation will kick-off its annual Christmas for the Kids on November 1st.
