U.S. Rep. Bud Cramer will host his annual Military Academy day for high school students in North Alabama.
Cramer is inviting students, families and guidance counselors to come and learn about the requirements and procedures for attending one of the U.S. Military Academies.
The event will take place Sunday afternoon, September 9th from 2:00 p.m. To 4:00 p.m. in the Madison Academy Cafeteria on Slaughter Road in Madison.
Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy will be there to answer questions and distribute information about their respective institutions.
"Academy Day is an opportunity for high school students interested in attending one of our nation's military academies to learn more about the congressional appointment process," said Cramer. "Additionally, Academy Day gives students a chance to ask questions and learn about the demanding, yet exciting and rewarding career in the military. I encourage all high school students from the 5th district that are interested in attending a military academy to attend this year's academy day."
Representative Cramer nominates outstanding students each year for appointments to our nation's five military academies.
