Criminal bond between father and son

A man and his son are behind bars on drug related charges.

After receiving complaints of illegal narcotic activity, The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department went to the home of 43-year-old Michael Lowery on County Road 856 in the Dogtown/Lookout Mountain area.

Officers and agents recovered an AK-47 assault rifle, a .22 caliber rifle, numerous rounds of ammunition, along with marijuana, cash, and other drug paraphernalia.

Lowery was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and public lewdness.

His son, 20-year-old Michael Dewayne Lowery was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Search agents say the marijuana found inside of the house was packaged for resale.

Both men remain in the DeKalb County Jail, awaiting bond.
