Small business incubator now open

If you have a small business or you're looking to start one, we have some good news.

A small business incubator company in Huntsville is offering nurturing services.

Knegleshia Smothers is the operations manager of the new venture headquartered on Wholesale Avenue.

"You have a corridor here that leads to office spaces."

The incubator has a total of 23 office spaces and 13 of the 23 are already being used.

Speakin' Out News and Alabama A&M University Community Development Corporation are just two of the businesses in the building.

The facility houses start up companies that are looking for an opportunity to get a jump start.

"It kind of cushions them like a baby an incubator to get them started in there growth in a new business."

Smothers says they offer free utilities, free internet, and use of a conference room.

"We are not a specific or specified industry incubator, we have a assortment business in the incubator so it gives an opportunity for you to have a economic hodgepodge."

So far the incubator has had one business to graduate, and they're looking forward to helping others.

"New business create jobs which helps families which benefits the community, so we are very proud to have this incubator in place."
