Boaz Police Crime report: August 8

1) Jonathan W. Stanley, 23; Jarred B. Motes, 23; and 17-year-old male all from
Crossville were arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop on US Highway 431 for unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphenalia.

2) Little Lots of 104 South McClesky Street in Boaz reported the theft of
10 shirts valued at $ 100.00.

3) Jimmy A. Gentry, 37, of Albertville was arrested for shoplifting after
receiving a call to the VF Outlet at 200 Lackey Street Boaz, where socks
valued at $ 6.00 were reported stolen and they were recovered from the
suspect.

4) Ofelia Perez-Diaz of Boaz reported a burglary at her residence and the theft of $ 400.00 in cash Tuesday August 14.

5) The Boaz Police Department is investigating an attempted armed robbery at
the Downtown Antique Gallery located on Main Street in Boaz.  The suspect described as a White Male approximately 6 feet tall 150-160 lbs. wearing blue jeans, a green and plaid shirt and a black ball cap, entered the business at approximatley 4:45 pm armed with a knife or box-cutter demanding cash.

    Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
