False identification lands local man behind bars

An Albertville man is in jail today on charges he provided false information and obstructed governmental operations.

David Zarate Martinez, 22, was arrested Friday afternoon.

Detectives say Martinez gave police officers the wrong information regarding his name and birthdate while they were questioning him for giving false identification to a local business.

Martinez was taken into custody and transported to the Albertville City Jail.

During the booking procedures, it was discovered that Albertville Police Department held two warrants for failure to appear for previous offenses.
