A simple search for a missing dog Friday uncovered an elaborate indoor marijuana-growing operation.
Officials with the Colbert County Drug Task Force and Sheffield Police discovered the operation inside a residence in the River Oaks subdivision.
100 plants that were 2 to 3 feet tall, along with a large amount of potting soil fertilizer and growing lights, were found inside the home.
Authorities said they also found $5,400 in cash, a shotgun, and various drug paraphernalia throughout the house.
Vincent Key, 45, and his girfriend, Ramona Martin, 46, were taken into custody and face charges of trafficking marijuana.
