Some cable customers in Fort Payne who want to launch complaints to their service provider will have to call all the way to the Long Star state.
A representative from Time Warner and Fort Payne's city council members discussed the issue Tuesday night.
The city's franchise agreement requires Time Warner provide a local phone number, but calls concerning billing or programming are being routed to service representatives in Texas.
One person complained during the meeting that he'd been placed on hold for 45 minutes before anyone was able to talk to him.
City leaders surmised they'd like to make a compromise with Time Warner.
