The pilot of an ultra-light plane is recovering after a Wednesday-afternoon crash.
Around 2:20 PM Wednesday afternoon, West Limestone VFD and Limestone County Sheriff's office responded to a plane crash on Siniard Road in the Goodsprings community in the northwest part of Limestone County.
Bill Gildersleeve had attempted to take off in his ultra-light plane.
He has a grass runway behind his house.
As he was taking off, the plane started to stall and lose power and he didn't have enough power to clear some power lines.
He then took evasive action, turned to the left and crashed into his neighbor's house.
He was taken to the hospital for a cut on his head and back pain.
The FAA has been notified and will talk to the pilot in the next several days.
