Huntsville, AL ? Valley Arts and Entertainment is excited to present the first ?Alabama Statewide Talent Show Competition? on September 8, 2007 in Decatur, AL.
Singers who are ages 14 to 18 years of age are eligible to register.
Singers who are under 18 years of age must have parental consent and signature to enter the competition.
Registration is open until deadline August 10, 2007. Singers are encouraged to register online by August 10 at 10:00 pm. Applications can also be mailed with a U.S. postmark date stamped by August 10, 2007.
Preliminary auditions will be held in Huntsville, Florence/Shoals and Birmingham, Alabama. Auditions will conducted beginning August 12 through August 26, 2007. The judging panels will consist of music educators and performing arts related personalities from Birmingham, Huntsville and Shoals areas.
This event program will also have one or two guest performers. Judges will select 1st and 2nd place winners and we will have a people?s choice award. Finalist winners will receive cash and a prize package, which will consist of various items and opportunities. These will be stated by September 1, 2007.
The proceeds from this event benefit Valley Arts Music Scholarship Program recipients, which is open to all Alabama students who meet the scholarship criteria. Valley Arts and Entertainment is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established by its founder, Patrice Bivins.
Alabama Statewide Talent Show Competition event is an opportunity to expose family and community to the music scholarship opportunities for students in their family, who seek music instruction outside of the classroom and potential college support to major in music, but do not have the financial means to do so.
