Shooter sought in housing complex murder

A man armed and dangerous is on the run after shooting and killing a valley man.

Huntsville Police and emergency crews were busy this weekend with their 13th homicide investigation this year.

The latest happened here on Mason Court in west Huntsville early Sunday morning.

Investigators William Lee McComb Jr., 29, was shot and later died.

Hours before that shooting on Martin Road investigators say a man kicked down the door to a woman's apartment and fired two shots.

Bullets struck two people, who were taken to Huntsville Hospital.

Police say the two incidents are not related.

Residents in the Mason Court area are just wondering what happened in their neighborhood in the first place.

Jeremy Hill said, " It surprised me. I have never seen anything like it".

He was surprised to find out that three people were shot in a matter of hours.

Hill adds, "You just got to be careful these days".

Neighbors watched as police searched for answers to a shooting that residents say didn't make sense.

"We didn't give our lives, so we don't have a right to take them".

Authorities searched for evidence throughout this apartment on Mason Court and are questioning several witnesses.

With Huntsville's latest shooting, two of the victims survived but one person died.

"What sense does it mean to take a life and they may turn around and take yours. I mean it doesn't make sense. The problem is still going to be there, it's not going to solve anything".

Huntsville police say McComb was shot in the stomach. Investigators need your help in finding the person who pulled the trigger.

In both shooting cases, the shooting suspects got away. If you have any information please contact the Huntsville Police Department at 256-722-7100.
