Capital murder case in the Shoals continues

Testimony continued today in a capital murder trial from the Shoals.

A state medical examiner testified this morning.

"Tre" Wells is on trial for the murder of his parents.

James and Lavonda Wells were shot to death October of 2003.

She testified James Wells died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Lavonda Wells was shot twice in the face and had been beaten by a blunt object.

She also had defensive wounds to her hands and arms.

Wells' trial is being held in Birmingham due to the publicity about the case in Colbert County.

The trial is expected to last several weeks.
