Volunteer Center forgery case lands woman in jail

It took Decatur investigators two months to find out who may have forged two checks on the Volunteer Center of Morgan County.

Now Beverly Crosswhite, 53, is in jail believed to be responsible for the forgery which took place on May 14.

Officers say two checks were printed and cashed that had not been authorized by the Volunteer Center.

Crosswhite was developed as a suspect and was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.

She was booked into the Decatur City Jail and later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $1500.00 bond.
