Lightning strikes NOAA station

Sunday's rains hit the entire area hard, including devices that issue severe weather alerts.

A lightning strike at the Huntsville NOAA station left weather radios out of commission.

Meterologists with the national weather service say their tower on Monte Sano Mountain was the only one affected by the weather.

The weather radios still worked, but the audio quality was bad and there was a hum in the signal.

The NWS said the problem was fixed by Sunday night.
