Lee Marshall keynote speaker at event for foster children

WAFF 48 News Anchor Lee Marshall was invited to Auburn, AL recently to speak to a gathering of hundreds of foster children.

It was the annual ILP, or Independent Living, conference.

The conference aims to equip foster children to enter the "real world" and includes sessions such as managing finances.

Lee Marshall is a former foster child who founded the Kids to Love Foundation three years ago.  She spoke during the final luncheon of the conference and sang 2 songs, one of which is her personal testimony.

Lee told the foster children how the Kids to Love Foundation is ready to meet their needs.

The children cheered when Lee told them the Kids to Love Heart and Sole drive collected brand new shoes for every one of them.  Each foster child in Alabama will receive a new pair of tennis shoes, a new pair of flip flops and a new pair of house shoes.
