North Alabamians attend memorial of 9 fallen firefighters

A delegation from Huntsville Fire and Rescue is attending memorial services in Charleston, S.C. today and funerals during the week for the 9 fallen Firefighters.

Chief Danny Loggins sent the representatives to join 30,000 others around the country to honor the men who died in a tragic warehouse fire.

Loggins said, "Our fallen brothers have answered their last call. We pray for them and their families during this time of grief. We all know the dangers and risks associated when we wear the uniform, but they died doing what they love, saving the lives of others.  We ask the Huntsville community to remember their sacrifices and dedication to service."

Loggins added that the Department has been fortunate not to have lost a firefighter in the line of duty in recent times.
