Two abused siblings, who ran away from home to avoid further bodily harm, have been found.
A 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl were spotted yesterday at 7:30 a.m. in Albertville.
They had apparently left their home sometime during the early morning hours, and were found when a neighbor called police.
After a preliminary investigation, it was determined that the children had attempted to run away to escape an abusive home, where they had received visible injuries.
They were transported to Marshall South ER for examination, treated and then released.
They will be living with relatives during the investigation.
Detectives say charges of child abuse could be brought against the mother depending on the outcome of the investigation.
