Man accused with causing deadly wreck charged with murder

The man accused of causing two wrecks last summer, one of them fatal, is charged with murder.

Police say Christopher Middlebrooks, of Winston County, was driving eraticly when he crashed head-on with a car on Old Moulton Road in Decatur last May.

33-year-old Mechelle Jones Powers, a mother of six, died in the crash.

Troopers say that Middlebrooks was involved in a hit and run on the Beltline just minutes before the deadly crash.
