Space Camp® identifies its half-millionth trainee

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center announces yet another important milestone in the history of the world's premiere space science educational camp program for both children and adults.

This morning, trainee number 500,000 walked across the stage to claim her wings.

Samantha Rice, 10, was unaware that she was turning a page in the history of the Space Camp program.

The Port St. Lucie, Florida resident learned she is Space Camp's 500,000th trainee during graduation ceremonies held Friday morning under the Shuttle Pathfinder.

Samantha received a free Space Camp tuition certificate so she can return to Space Camp next season to continue her training.

She also took home one of the Space Camp 25th Anniversary flags flown aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery earlier this year.
