Madison County Commissioners consider sales tax increase and junk ordinance

Madison County Commissioners have two big dates highlighted on their calendars this month. One involves a sales tax increase; and, the other involves a junk ordinance proposal.

On June 11, Commissioners will meet to reconsider a 1/2 sales tax increase for the three public school systems of Madison County. The meeting will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the commission board room, on 7th floor of the Madison County Courthouse.

And on June 18, Commissioners will consider the adoption of an ordinance pertaining to the control of litter or rubbish and the control of areas that create a public nuisance because of an accumulation of junk.  That meeing will also take place at 10:00 a.m. on the 7th floor of the Madison County Courthouse.
