A Valley mayor will remain on the job after facing ethic charges.
Leighton Mayor Lawayne Harrison has entered into an administrative resolution with the state ethics committee.
He admitted to the committee that he sold an insurance policy to a city employee in the mayor's office.
He also admitted to signing a city check in November of 2006.
This check was made out to the city clerk for $300.
The clerk cashed the check and gave the case to the mayor's wife.
According to the ethics commission, it was payment for paperwork the mayor's wife did on an aging committee in town.
The problem is, the mayor did not get approval from the council for this expense.
Harrison paid restitution of $300 to the city.
