Several local churches have been in the planning stages for the Second Annual Fish Fest, which is a Christian music festival that will take place at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds on June 9, 2007. Currently they have three national acts scheduled to perform: Unchained, Huntsville Master's Commission, Flatline and Revelation. A wide variety of musical styles will be represented including rock, rap, praise and worship and alternative rock. The gates will open at 2:00pm and performances will begin around 2:30pm. The biggest difference between this year's event and last year's is that it will be FREE to everyone. Lst year tickets were either $8.00 in advance or $10.00 at the gate. The committee made the decision to make the festival free so that the event can truly be the ministry that it is intended to be.
It is the vision of the organizers of Fish Fest to see lives changed and impacted through the presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ though the music and the testimonies of the artists and speakers. This event serves as an amazing evangelical tool for the community to reach out to youth, young adults and families and to encourage individuals in their walk with the Lord.
The funding for this event is coming from local churches and businesses in Lincoln County and North Alabama. The expenses include artists' fees, stage, sound, lights, video and advertising.
