23rd Annual Silver Tea at Burritt on the Mountain

The Burritt Museum Guild, a volunteer support organization of Burritt on the Mountain, will host the 23rd Annual Silver Tea on Monday, June 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Debbie Collins, along with Delores Johnson and Mary Owen, chair this year's event.  The Burritt Museum Guild offers the Silver Tea each year as a major fundraiser to support various projects at Burritt such as education and historic preservation.

The Silver Tea will begin in the Burritt mansion featuring a chocolate table of delectable delights by Chef Philippe Gehin of the Heritage Club and Gerry Barnes, amid a display of vintage wedding gowns.  An abundance of assorted tea time delicacies and musical entertainment will be available throughout the park. The Old Country Church will have a display of vintage purses from around the world. The Burritt Mansion, Church, Balch House, Gazebo and grounds will be decorated with elaborate fresh floral arrangements by the Federated Garden Clubs of Huntsville and Madison County.  

A fashion show by Frankie's and The Worth Collection will begin at 2:00 p.m. and at 3:00 p.m. Jerry Williamson of Bishops Flowers will demonstrate floral technique and design.  Following the floral presentation, there will be a donation drawing for several valuable prizes including: a weekend for 2 at the Marriott Hotel and Spa at Muscle Shoals; High Tea for 8 at the Ledges with Mayor Loretta Spencer ; a framed print by Carolyn Rountree; Jay Strongwater chrystal Butterfly Pin from Lawren's; one of a kind handmade Susan Geary Bear; Heritage Club dinner for 2; Swarovski chrystal swan, 2 Burritt season City Lights and Stars concert tickets; Holiday Magic dinner for 2 from Burritt; 2 Tickets to the Symphony Pops Series; an Oriental Rug; a Prozone Air Purifier and more. Donation drawing tickets are $5.00 ea. or 3/$10.00.  There will be a silent auction for: luncheon for twelve in the Burritt Mansion, minimum Bid $300; diamond and citron earrings from Alexander's Jewelry; and a custom heirloom quilt by Nancy McCord.  Silent Auction Bids will be accepted by phone, and you need not be present for the Silent Auction or Donation Drawing to win.

Numerous door prizes will also be drawn during the afternoon.
