Paper: UA Officials prepared to offer Rodriguez head coaching job

Sources close to the search say University of Alabama officials are prepared to offer West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez the head coaching job at Alabama.

The Birmingham News reported the information Wednesday.

However, other media outlets are speculating that Rodriguez is using the negotiation with UA Athletics Director Mal Moore as leverage for a new contract at West Virginia and likely won't leave the university.

Rodriguez is a native and alumnus of West Virginia University.
