Tuesday was the first day back for Lee High School students at Huntsville's Center for Technology since the I-565 school bus crash.
Many of the students were friends with the boys and girls on the bus.
Classmates made cards and signs expressing sympathy to Nicole Ford's family and get well wishes for other victims.
Ford's teacher says her students are still dealing with losing their friend.
"Children are better than we think they are. I mean, they can cope with things that we don't know how they coping, but they cope by talking to each other," says Rose Bell.
Bell says many of her students also asked her to ride the bus with them to and from the technology center.
