Scarecrow Trail - WAFF-TV: News, Weather and Sports for Huntsville, AL

Scarecrow Trail

This September and October get ready for some good old-fashioned fall fun at the Huntsville Botanical Garden's sixth annual Scarecrow Trail!  Dozens of fabulous, weird, funny, and traditional scarecrows lurk along Garden's trails.  Look for Mr. Crow-jangles, playing his gourd guitar.  Share the magic with Abra-Crow-Dabra.  Discover Scare "D" Crow, The Happy Hiker, Widgets Robo Crow, RELO Crow, and Astro Crow all hiding amongst the trees in the garden.  The Enchanted Forest returns aging this year - you'll definitely get the feeling you're being watched as the giant trees on our Nature Trail grow almost human faces.

The scarecrows come to the Garden from all over the community; schools, non-profit groups, individuals, families, social groups and clubs all spend hours making elaborate, original and very funny 'crows.  The Scarecrow Trail has become a much beloved annual event for North Alabama.

Other Scarecrow Trail activities include the creepy 1-acre Sorghum Maze - for kids of all ages, and hayrides around the Garden on the weekend.  Traditional music groups will entertain on selected weekends.

Major sponsors of the Scarecrow Trail include The Spine Center@TOC, the Huntsville Times, WHNT-TV and WAHR.
