One road you probably drive quite a bit if you live in Huntsville is getting a facelift.
The city public works department has begun re-paving Oakwood Avenue between Jordan Lane and Pulaski Pike.
The city hopes to have the project, which began on July 9, completed by July 23.
The director of the public works department is asking that drivers use extreme caution due to the rough roadways during the process.
In another change coming to Oakwood Avenue, there will only be one left turn lane at the Lee High Drive and Oakwood intersection when you’re traveling west, beginning on July 12 at 9 a.m.
There were two turn lanes in that area in the past.
The traffic signal will change and will also now include arrows. Keep in mind, a flashing yellow arrow means left turns are allowed, but you must yield.
