Police locate one suspect in Florence stabbing, still looking for second suspect

Police looking for suspects in late night stabbing in Florence

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - Florence police officers were called to the Eliza Coffee Memorial Emergency Room on Monday night around 9:15 on reports of an assault with a knife victim.

Investigators tell us when officers arrived they found Bruce D. Crunk with a stab wound to the left upper chest. Officers spoke to Crunk's wife, she informed them that they were at a friend's house on Hermitage Drive when he was stabbed.

Crunk's wife said that he was brought to the ER in their vehicle by another friend that was also at the house on Hermitage Drive. Investigators say Crunk has undergone surgery to repair the damage that was caused during the stabbing. He is currently in critical condition.

Police are looking for 69-year-old George Weakly Rhodes, who was at the home on Hermitage Drive. A warrant has been issued for assault in the first degree. If anyone sees him, they are urged to not confront him as he is considered to be armed.

Police say that Crunk was in stable condition as of Tuesday morning. They have also reportedly located Darly Burt, who was also at the home. He has been arrested on unrelated warrants.

Authorities were looking for Crunk's vehicle, but have since located it.
