NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Officials have identified the victim of a fatal crash in South Nashville on Saturday morning.

The four-vehicle crash happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Woodmont Boulevard and Granny White Pike South.

Police said Paul Lindquist, 67, of Lebanon, was traveling east on Woodmont in a 2004 Nissan Frontier pickup truck when he approached stopped traffic near the intersection of Granny White Pike and struck the back of a Lexus sedan in front of him.

The impact caused a chain reaction of fender-benders. The Lexus hit a Chevrolet Colorado in front of it, which caused that driver to hit a Chevrolet Tahoe as well.

After the initial crash, Lindquist continued around the other three cars, driving into the intersection and into a utility pole.

He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died.

Police are still working to determine if Lindquist suffered a medical event prior to the crash.

No other drivers were injured in the incident.
