Explosion at Guntersville gas station leaves one injured

GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - One person was injured in an explosion at a Guntersville gas station.

Guntersville Fire says a pickup truck was headed southbound on U.S. 431 early Saturday morning when the driver crossed the median, hit a metal pole and then a gas pump at the Lakeview Bait and Tackle.

Our news partners at The Advertiser-Gleam say that the driver was Jason Timothy Holmes of Hartselle.

Holmes had to be pulled from the truck after it burst into flames. He was then taken to Huntsville Hospital and later released.

Fire crews say the driver was in an altered mental state.

Officials are still investigating this accident.
