HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police are searching a suspect responsible for multiple gunshot injuries Tuesday night.

Police say they responded to two separate shootings in relation to the same suspect. The first incident was in the 900 block of Lee Drive. Officers said there was an altercation between the shooter and his girlfriend earlier Tuesday. Police said the shooter returned and fired multiple rounds, striking several people.

Officers at the scene said three men and one woman were hit in the lower parts of their bodies. One of them was only grazed.

All of the victims were transported to Huntsville Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The second incident was a report of a bullet going through a home on Appleby Street. No physical injuries occurred at that scene. It is believed to be a result of the original shooting. The round was located and turned into evidence.

The shooter left before police got there. Officers are still looking for him but said there is no threat to the public. Investigators are developing the necessary evidence to locate and possibly charge him.

Police said there is no evidence to believe this shooting is connected to the homicide scene at Knollbrook Drive earlier Tuesday..
