MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A second suspect has been charged for a shooting that left 32-year-old Demarcus Jones dead, the Montgomery Police Department announced.

Casey Murphy, 31, is charged with one count of murder.

The charges are related to a shooting that happened on May 4 in the 900 block of Goodwyn Drive. According to Capt. Regina Duckett, Murphy was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday.

Police previously charged Mardedus Mack, 29, with murder in connection to the homicide. He was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on May 9.

Duckett says an investigation determined Jones was present but uninvolved in a dispute between Murphy and Mack that escalated into an exchange of gunfire. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

Murphy was taken to the Montgomery County Detention Facility and placed under a $150,000 bond.
