LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - In July 2017, a 400-pound pig named Booger seriously injured a 3-year-old girl. On Wednesday, Booger's owner entered a plea in Lauderdale County court.

Thomas Daniel Brown of Rogersville pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless endangerment. He will have to pay $40,000 in restitution and could possibly spend up to a year in jail.

Brown said he was at work when the incident happened. He said Booger got out and played with neighbors kids without his knowledge. He said the gate should have been secured and admitted he is responsible.

Booger bit 3-year-old Bella's arm, causing her to get more than 20 stitches. Bella's mother, Amber White, said Bella and her two older brothers were playing in the yard when the Booger came over and bit her.

White said her daughter had to suffer through multiple hospital visits due to the massive pig bite.

She said they finally got the justice Bella deserves.

"We wanted an apology mainly and so we pushed the DA to see this through as much as he could and he came through," said White.
