Gov. Kay Ivey won the Republican gubernatorial primary. She will face Democrat Walt Maddox in November. Both joyfully accepted their nominations.
There will be a GOP runoff for lieutenant governor between Alabama Public Service Commission president Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh and Alabama Rep. Will Ainsworth.
No winner was selected in the GOP attorney general primary. Steve Marshall and Troy King will face each other in the July 17 runoff. The Democratic attorney general nominee is Joseph Siegelman.
No winner was chosen in the Republican primary for Alabama Supreme Court chief justice either.
Other notable winners include Reps. Mo Brooks and Robert Aderholt, who regained the nominations for their seats in Congress.
Madison County's deputy corner, Tyler Berryhill, took the GOP primary for the coroner deposition currently held by his father, Bobby Berryhill.
