Crime Stoppers: Cellphone stolen at Madison store

MADISON, AL (WAFF) - Madison police need your help finding a phone thief.

Police say a man wearing a red Alabama dynasty T-shirt stole a cellphone that was left behind in a shopping cart. It happened at Kroger in Madison on Feb. 23. Police say the man saw the phone left behind, got the cart and surrounded the phone with soda bottles. He then went inside the store. The phone was no longer in the cart when he checked out.

Police say he did not attempt to return the lost cellphone to store personnel.

The victim reportedly returned to the store and activated her phone tracker to find that it had been moved to Wendy's in Madison. Police said the victim notified Wendy's employees but to no avail.
