FRANKLIN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The big yellow school buses in Franklin County are going green.
The school board is replacing the old diesel buses with more than 30 propane buses.
Ron Harris, the transportation secretary, said going green is cost-effective.
Harris said the staff researched and studied what bus to buy for almost a year. They wanted something safe for the students and drivers.
School administrators say this bus is made for safety. Each bus is equipped with cameras that will help monitor bullying and support the driver, allowing them to see what's going on outside and around the bus.
The county will start using the buses in the fall.
