HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A drug bust in Huntsville led to a police chase and some crashes Tuesday afternoon.

It started at the Dollar General on Andrew Jackson Way at about 1 p.m. Police said they tried to stop two men making a drug deal, but they took off in a red pickup truck. Officers and drug agents followed them.

During the pursuit, two Huntsville police officers collided with each other at Church Street and Pratt Avenue.

The truck was stopped after it hit a curb and blew a tire. Police blocked them in at the Burger King on University Drive and Memorial Parkway.

The sergeant on the scene said even with a flat tire, the fleeing driver hit an undercover agent’s car twice while trying to escape.

Both suspects fled on foot but were captured.

They were identified as Yuriy Samarskiy, 27, and Jamal Lemuel Edwards, 25. Both were booked on charges of conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime and attempting to elude a police office.
