MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) - Pat Ezzell, a Tennessee Valley Authority historian, said TVA officials will be holding its "Built for the People" hydro-generation plant tours beginning May 18.
TVA will be hosting tours on a limited basis at six of its hydro facilities across the Tennessee Valley. The tours will be at Norris, Chickamauga, Wilson, Kentucky, and Guntersville dams, as well as at the Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Plant.
"The dams were built for the public, the people they are serving," said Ezzell. In fact, he said hanging on the wall of each powerhouse is a plaque with the slogan "Built for the People of the United States."

Ezzell said the tours are a chance for the public to learn more about the history of the dams and the engineering that went into building the structures.
