HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A New Leash on Life and the north Alabama community are coming together to save a dog that was hit by a car.

Hannah, a German Shepherd, two broken legs and a possible broken pelvis. She went in for surgery Thursday thanks to donations from the community. In a Facebook post, A new Leash on Life stated the initial surgery would cost $2,800.

A New Leash on Life posted an update on Friday stating that Hannah's surgery was a success.

Now, she needs a forever home or at least a foster while she recovers. You can email pets@anewleash.org if you are interested in helping Hannah.

"Hannah is adorable, considering everything she's been through this week," said Julie Webb of A New Leash on Life.

Hannah is up for adoption. They believe she will improve and recover more quickly if she's in a forever home.

The organization is also still raising money for her after-care.
