HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - We've all been there.
It's 2 a.m. and you're feeling a little under the weather, so you turn to the internet to Google your symptoms.
You may not always understand the information provided to you, or you may misinterpret the information and think you have something worse then what it is.
A new app called K-Health is designed to lower those misunderstandings.
The app uses artificial intelligence to help you figure out what you may have and how you can treat it based on information from millions of other people who experienced the same symptoms.
"K was created out of the frustrations surrounding the fact that when you have a health concern—it's impossible to look online and understand what you have," says Allon Bloch, Co-Founder and CEO of K-Health.
The app partners with local health care provider Integrity Family Care. This gives you the option to send your symptoms to a physician and that physician can decide if you need a prescription or a more in-depth visit.
The app also helps you interact more in a health care system that is very expensive.
"If there is a way to simplify it and demystify it, give the power to consumers and help you manage the interactions, I think this is an important step towards that," says Bloch.
This is also another way to keep you from waiting in a waiting room at the doctor's office.
"We partnered with Integrity Family Care so you can press a button, share it with Integrity Family Care establish care. The doctor will just recommend a certain test or a certain prescription and you don't even need to come in."
The app is free in the Android and Apple app stores and can be used by anyone between the ages of 18 and 85 years old.
