2nd inmate captured after escaping Tuscumbia jail through ceiling

TUSCUMBIA, AL (WAFF) - The second Tuscumbia jail escapee is finally back in custody.

On Friday morning, Decatur police announced they arrested Justin Whitman on Thursday night.

Investigators tell us Brandon Hale was recaptured on May 1 in Florence.

The pair escaped from the Tuscumbia Police Department some 12 hours ago.

The Colbert County Sheriff says they escaped by getting through the ceiling to the roof on Monday around 5:15 p.m.

Hale is charged with illegal use of a credit card. Whitman is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, obstructing justice by giving a false name to a law enforcement officer, and possession of marijuana in the second degree.
