(WAFF) -

Have a craving for something salty? You’re in luck, because today, April 26, is National Pretzel Day!

Whether you like a soft pretzel, crunchy pretzel, or a pretzel dipped in cheese sauce, today is the day to indulge in a salty snack!

The first pretzels ever created, dating back to the 16th century, were baked as a soft bread, just like many people like to enjoy today.

They were also seen as a symbol of good luck, and were often given to the poor.

Today, pretzels come in all shapes, sizes, and forms, from salty, to cinnamon, to chocolate, to twist-form.

No matter what way you like to enjoy your pretzel, there is no limit to the tasty possibilities on National Pretzel Day.
