MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) - Hanna Taylor got a big surprise this week when she went out to dinner and came face to face with a rock legend. Other lucky fans just might see him hanging around the Shoals this week too.

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith is recording at FAME Studios. WAFF 48 News is still learning what he's recording, but studio management confirms he will be in town all week..

Tyler's hits include "Angel," "What It Takes," "Rag Doll," "Janie's Got a Gun" and the 1986 hit "Walk This Way" with Run-D.M.C.

Tyler is also known for his cameos on the small and big screen with several appearances on "Saturday Night Live," "Two and A Half Men," and "Wayne's World."

Tyler also served as a judge on the hit show "American Idol."

His daughter, Liv Tyler, is an actress best known for films like "That Thing You Do!" and the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Tyler didn't make a commotion in town but his fans still took notice. Taylor said she had seen some Facebook posts about Tyler being in town but didn't know how truthful those rumors were until, by pure coincidence, he was feet away.

"It's kind of embarrassing but when I seen him in the hallway I just started crying...I think (meeting him) has been on my bucket list since I was probably 12 years old," Taylor said.

Taylor ran into the music star in a hotel hallway as he was going to dinner. She said it was truly a "star struck moment," and Tyler's bodyguard noticed and let her get a quick photo.

She said Tyler didn't say much and was in a hurry to join his party at the restaurant but was still gracious and more than willing to take a photo so his fan could immortalize the occasion.

"He was just so nice, so down to Earth, super-sweet guy," she said. "Very nice, just pretty much what you think he would be like."

Once word out, his fans were excited to meet him. One of them, Jaycie Lynn May Foster, said a crowd waited for him outside FAME Wednesday evening. He signed autographs, posed for photos, and even shared a "Roll Tide" with the crowd.
