HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Wells Fargo team members volunteered in the Huntsville community on Saturday.
Local volunteers partnered with Habitat for Humanity Madison Co. to help construct a new home for a Huntsville family.
The effort came as part of Wells Fargo's 8th annual Community Service Super Saturday. The project is a regional initiative where team members and partners participate in more than 70 volunteer activities in over 54 cities in the southeast in one day.
"Community Service Super Saturday is just one of the ways that our team members are working to build better communities here in Huntsville," said Wells Fargo Regional Bank President Stephen Norris. "For many of our team members, this is their favorite day of the year. When we all come together for events like these, we are reminded that by working together, we can truly make a huge impact in our communities."
Wells Fargo presented a $30,000 grant to help with the project and will also donate approximately $500,000 to nonprofit organizations across the southeast.
