MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A former Alabama Crimson Tide football player honored slain police officers on his feet during his preseason NFL game Saturday night.

During the game against the Washington Redskins, current Green Bay Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix wrote the names of four police officers on his cleats who've fallen in the line of duty. The former Tide star tweeted out a picture of the cleats on his feet saying that two more names were added, calling the officers "angels" and "HEROS."

Clinton-Dix is an Orlando native and according to an article from NBC Sports, all four officers are from the area where the current Packer player was raised. Matt Baxter and Sam Howard from the Kissimmee Police Department in Kissimmee, Florida, were shot on Friday. Orlando Police Sgt. Debra Clayton was shot in December, and Orange County Sheriff's Officer Norman Lewis was killed in a crash while searching for Clayton's killer.

According to the article, Clinton-Dix was a criminal justice major during his time at Alabama and is still working toward obtaining his degree in the offseasons away from Lambeau Field.
